White City is a town in southeast Saskatchewan at the intersection of Highway 48 and the Trans-Canada Highway, next door to Emerald Park and within reach of Balgonie, Pilot Butte and Regina. It became an organized hamlet on April 26, 1959, a village on March 1, 1967, and a town on November 1, 2000. The name came from John Kadannek, a local store owner, who talked landowner Johnston Lipsett of Pilot Butte into naming it for White City in London, England, where a favourite aunt of his had lived. Growth has been steep: 91 people in 1961, 1,894 in 2011, 3,099 in 2016 and 3,821 in 2021 across 7.56 square kilometres. Most residents commute into Regina, students go to school here through grade 8 and then bus about ten minutes to Greenall School in Balgonie.
